I’m a big fan of cosy winter time markets! I try to hit as many as I can get to. Sometimes it works out great, and sometimes I spend 7 hours in a taxi in the Norwegian countryside, weeping.

But this time I’ll be on the other side of the table! This is some of the stuff I’ll be offering in the village of Ede, Offerdal, Jämtland. If you have the time and inclination, swing by and get one of my hand printed Holiday cards (not pictured) or a new mini pin cushion ring (I swear it’s amazing for when you’re at the sewing machine. You don’t have to live with pins in your mouth!!).

Otherwise have a nice weekend, maybe chew on a saffron bun and think of me.

I love lace. I have a hard time wearing lace. But I did my best to match some old and new pieces for an outfit.

I don’t know if the blindfold is the most comfortable, but it is one more way to wear lace.

One of my proudest moments was figuring out how to draft a pattern for a Tvärarmatröja without ever seeing the garment in real life. I was just looking at the stripes.

Because if you imagine that the stripes have to be woven in the same direction, that tells you all you really need to know.

This type of jacket is found in some Swedish folk costumes, and was fashionable around the turn of the 19th century. Mine is hand sewn using non historical fabrics.

I’m trying to do an assembly line thing with these oven mitts. I’m stocking up on them to offer at the aforementioned Advent market I’m attending (if anyone is on Offerdal on Dec 1st, I’m just saying…).

Since I started quite far ahead in time the whole process has been very stress free. Everything has sorted itself out, because past me decided to invest in good quality materials.

Here’s to hoping someone is interested in buying some for their kitchen. But that will lösa sig too.

People are usually amazed (or disturbed) by my apparent abundance of patience. They see some of the tiny stuff I make and say things like “I could never!”

I can sympathise with that. The problem is: I LOVE the fiddly stuff. The tinier, the better. I am very bad at taking orders on how or what to do (even when it comes to lace. Reasons I have never been, and never will go to Vadstena courses in bobbin lace). But let me have a go at a pattern I like the look of, or a reconstruction I find interesting, and you could leave me for hours without getting sick of it. Yes, even if I have to start over again several times. It’s the process, not the time for me.

Chunky embroidery or macramé? No thanks. Give me that gossamer spiderweb stuff. Let me fiddle.
