Set on an heirloom
My brothers have started producing heirs. This means I am obliged to produce heirlooms.
This lace was designed and finished for my firstborn nibling, just in time for the christening ceremony. I worked the pattern form the middle outwards, doing one diagonal half and picking up the same stitches to make the other.
My dastardly plan worked! My brother and his wife are afraid to touch it, lest it should be soiled. I say: let the kid ruin it. I made one; I can make another.
At least we know no one in the world has one quite the same. Unless you comission me to make you one….
